Music for All is very pleased to support Make Music Day UK on 21 June 2017. Make Music Day UK is an annual UK wide, free day of music held in public spaces, from squares to libraries, bandstands to school halls and arts centres, always held on the summer solstice, 21 June.
This is the UK’s contribution to the international summer solstice music celebration which first started in France in 1982 and now takes place in over 120 countries and 750 cities across the world. Make Music Day UK aims to turn the country into a stage, and offer a full spectrum of performers the opportunity to display their musical skills.
A host of different venues will be looking for musicians of all ages, kinds and musical genres to fill their locations with music.
Make Music Day UK is:
- performed by anyone, enjoyed by everyone.
- A way for everybody in the UK to celebrate the summer solstice, enjoying the longest day of the year, while sampling a range of the fantastic music-making which goes on all year round.
- A DIY celebration of music when almost any way to make music can and will happen.
- A chance for anyone to have a go at singing or trying an instrument, and finding out how they, too, can become musicians.
- Make Music Day UK is open to music makers of all ages, skill levels, and musical persuasions.
When and where will Make Music Day UK take place?
Make Music Day UK will take place on the summer solstice, Wednesday 21 June 2017, in different spaces and places all over the UK.

We supported the Bromley Youth Music Trust a few years ago to launch a Rock School for the youngsters in the area to help them learn to rock! The programme has really taken off and a recent “Rock School” concert was totally sold out with over 200 people coming to see the young people perform their new skills!
We are delighted to be exhibiting at the show this weekend (Saturday and Sunday at London Olympia)
We will be holding a big raffle to raise funds for the charity and (so far) have this lovely Washburn bass, an Orange Amp, an Aguilar pedal and Elites strings!
More prizes to follow and huge thanks to everyone from the industry that has kindly donated to the raffle.
Hope to see you there!
