Available awards
The Harris Foundation award is open to schools looking to deepen their music provision and support/or continue to support groups of music makers within their school. This funding proposal should add additional sophistication to existing music education provision and allow more pupils to appreciate the many benefits of music making.
Funds can be used to support any type of ensemble, including bands, orchestras or informal groups and should be put towards the purchase of instruments, studio equipment, specialised teaching support, or other items specifically designed to support the establishment and/or continuation of music groups. A grant of up to £5000 is available for this award.
Open to applications from groups using entry-level ukuleles to support communities in deprived or marginalised areas and developing music education for those living in the area (these communities include but are not limited to social infrastructure; please see 7 domains of deprivation here).
Open to applications from groups using entry-level half-size acoustic guitars to support communities in deprived or marginalised areas and developing music education for those living in the area (these communities include but are not limited to social infrastructure; please see 7 domains of deprivation here).
This award is open to community-based groups using electric guitars and amplifiers to support disadvantaged music makers; they must illustrate the impact this award will have on advancing the music-making of their group. (These disadvantaged communities include but are not limited to social infrastructure; please see 7 domains of deprivation here).
Open to applications from groups using entry-level descant recorders to support communities in deprived or marginalised areas and develop music education for those living in the area. Suitable for beginners only and includes ‘walking in the air sheet music’. Note, no cases available. (These disadvantaged communities include but are not limited to social infrastructure; please see 7 domains of deprivation here).
This award is open to community-based groups using keyboards to support disadvantaged music makers; applicants must illustrate the impact this award will have on advancing their music making. Please note that no cases are provided – these are entry-level instruments. (These disadvantaged communities include but are not limited to social infrastructure; please see 7 domains of deprivation here).
