Music for All is proud to support Dyscover, a specialist charity working with some of the 350,000 people with the communication disorder aphasia.
Music for All funded the recruitment of a Music Therapist allowing Dyscover to add music to their activities and provide music as a way of reconnecting through purposeful activity.
The stimulating music therapy courses allow groups to beat time to music and use lyrics for vocal exercises. Although it’s great fun, it can be tiring work as the exercises really challenge the brain. The group often ‘jams’ to Elvis – Hound Dog being a particular favourite.
Over the past 5 years the Music for All has awarded over 168 grants to schools and community based music groups across the UK including supporting many charity initiatives. Other charities supported include MIND, Click Sargent, One Handed Musical Trust and the Autistic Society.
