Music for All gave London based Southside Harmonics a grant to support the purchase of additional steel pans.
They had been losing some of their 50 members as there weren’t enough instruments for everyone to play, but with our help they were able to purchase more pans so new members could start joining again.
Through the project many of the participants have benefited from gaining more confidence, improving time management, developing skills to work as part of a team and generally feeling happier. Taking part in this project allowed them to see that a community, together, is strong and positive and that making music is for all of us
Over the past three years the Music for All has awarded over 130 grants to schools and community-based music groups across the UK.
