Thanks to Music for All funding Rice Lane Primary School purchased a full class set of Samba instruments, plus ear defenders and supporting belts, to develop their Samba moves and music.
The children can now experience the sound and feel of these specialist instruments. In addition to classes, an enthusiastic extracurricular Samba band with 25 Year 3 and 4 children is playing Samba regularly.
Thank you for the wonderful opportunity you have afforded our children. Samba drumming is a physical activity as well as a mental activity. The experience has developed their listening skills, co-ordination and sense of community.
Over the past three years the Music for All has awarded over 130 grants to schools and community-based music groups across the UK.
