Music for All helped self-taught musician Delilah purchase a performance quality classical guitar to ensure she could meet the grades required for university entry and continue her development as a musician. Growing up in Cornwall her options to study A Level music were limited. The guitar has given her access to new work opportunities and wider experiences as a musician, and she has also started to teach guitar and music theory. She is now using the guitar to work whilst at Uni in London to support herself financially throughout her studies.
Having a good quality classical guitar allows me to be taken seriously as a young, female musician, new to the capital. The guitar has enabled me to gain relevant work experience and it allows me to teach others, which is a strong passion of mine.
Music for All’s grant has also helped open up more versatile avenues of work as well.
