Music for All believes that making music changes lives and we want you to experience the benefits!
Whether you’re new to music making, want to try your hand at another instrument or wish to return to an instrument you loved to play in the past, there could be a free lesson local to you during our annual Learn to Play weekend. 2025’s event has already taken place, but it will be back in 2026. Stay tuned…!

FAQ's
When you have located the venue you want to visit, view the information on the map or spreadsheet to view how the venue is managing bookings then simply follow their guidance provided. Please note that Music for All does not manage lesson bookings.
You can also apply for a Music for All financial grant to contribute to your continued learning through our annual Learn to Play award. This funding round will open in October when further details will be available on our website.
Additionally, our project partner Take it away offers interest-free loans for musical instruments, tuition, equipment and software.
Anything that helps you make music, whether it’s a brand-new, reconditioned or adapted instrument, equipment, software, tuition or even practice room hire, Take it away has you covered. Shop in-store through a network of over 100 music retailers across England and Northern Ireland or online with a participating Take it away retailer and use your interest-free loan to fund your musical journey.
