Research and Resources

At Music for All, we advocate for music makers and campaign to promote the many scientific benefits resulting from making music. We work to raise awareness of how increasing opportunities for music making could be integrated into everyday life and education and bring attention to the challenges faced by music makers, working with sector colleagues to remedy these.
In 2024 we launched our Music Makers’ Charter, campaigning for greater investment in music making opportunities, and recognition of it’s widespread benefits. This campaign invited people to show their support by signing up and sharing how they would support the Music Makers’ Charter through their involvement in music making. Supporters were encouraged to commit to specific actions aligned with the aims of the Charter.
The Change.org page enabled signatories either to register their support for the Charter or to outline ways they planned to get involved in music making and/or encourage more music makers within their communities. We are proud to have gained the support of over 565 individuals.
As we continue our advocacy work, we want to highlight the lack of access to music making, highlight the benefits of music making, and unify interest groups across education, health and wellbeing to demand greater opportunities for music making.
Below we have added some useful further reading about the benefits of making music:
