Michael Bichard is a crossbench member of the House of Lords with a long and varied career in public service leadership which includes time as Permanent Secretary of the Education and Employment Department,Chair of the National Audit Office and Vice Chancellor of the University of the Arts London. He is currently Chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire.He has also been CEO of two major local authorities with education responsibilities and has a career long commitment to equality and diversity including social mobility.’
In supporting Music for All, Michael says ‘Music should be a part of every child’s education but sadly, for many, that is no longer the case, especially for children in state schools. Music for All, however, plays a vital role in ensuring that more young people can still get the opportunity to play a musical instrument and, in some cases, become accomplished musicians.
