“I was very fortunate enough to grow up in a musical family, playing instruments on a daily basis and having inspiring musicians around me. Bhangra is a very male dominated genre and female dhol drummers are very rare around the world. However with hard work, support and determination I overcame various obstacles and became the First Female Dhol Drummer in the UK. I specifically want to help inspire and encourage female musicians. To give them confidence that female musicians can break through and be successful.”
