In 2024, the Harris Foundation Schools Progression Award, supported by the Harris Foundation for Lifelong Learning, invited UK schools to apply for funding to enhance their music programs. The initiative received 93 applications, and after careful evaluation, eight schools were selected to receive grants aimed at enriching their music-making activities. The awarded schools plan to use the funding to acquire instruments, offer additional tuition, and increase performing opportunities.
