With a substantial career in the arts and media including working with the Chineke! Foundation and Dulwich Symphony Orchestra, Ishani brings her knowledge of music education, creative learning, outreach programmes and arts administration to the Board. As the Learning and Participation Manager for the Chineke! Foundation, she worked with Europe’s first majority Black and ethnically diverse professional and youth orchestras. She managed the Chineke! Junior Orchestra, nurturing diverse young talent and showcasing them on the world’s greatest stages and also took Chineke! professional musicians into schools, leading workshops in creative composition and performance through participatory concerts across the UK. Ishani joined London Youth Choirs in the newly created, strategic role of Head of Engagement in May 2022. She is responsible for the growth and development of LYC Experience, an initiative that reaches out to the localities of new choirs and reinstates music as a valuable part of the community.
